Dust is nothing more than a collection of dead skin, insect parts, ash, pollen, and more. It’s full of allergens, which means you want as little of it in your house as possible. Floor coverings like rugs are major contributors to dust, and they also attract dust. The fuzzier a rug is, the more dust it will produce. If you want to prevent dust buildup on your rugs, be sure to vacuum often and give your rugs a good shake outside every chance you get. Another thing that might be causing dust buildup in your bedroom is the use of old rags for dusting. Instead, head to the store and grab some microfiber cloths, which attract far more dust than that old t-shirt you’ve been using ever could. Letting the air in your home get too dry can also cause a dust problem. Dust loves static because it helps it to cling to surfaces. Keeping the humidity at around forty to fifty percent will help keep dust from clumping up!
