We all want a tidier, clutter-free home, but how can we get it? One great way to start ridding yourself of the clutter in your home is to start small. You’d be surprised at how much you can clear away just by getting rid of a few things that should seem obvious.
For example, getting rid of any duplicate items will help free up some space. If you have two pairs of kitchen shears, for example, get rid of one! Do you really need three different brooms? How many sheets do you have for your guest bedroom? How many do you actually need? If you look around your home at all of the things that you have multiples of, you might be shocked at how few of them you actually use.
Next, take a look at all of the things you haven’t used in the last year. If it hasn’t been moved in a year, chances are you don’t need it. This is especially helpful when it comes to your closet – any clothes that you haven’t worn in any of the four seasons are unlikely to be worn again! While you’re going through your things, look for anything that’s torn, broken, or mismatched. All of that stuff must go, too! Again, these things might seem obvious, but setting out to de-clutter your bedroom and the rest of your home with these tips in mind might yield some surprisingly pleasing results!
